What is growing between my zoa?

Can anyone tell me what is growing in between my Zoa? The green ones looked like one happy mat (much like the orange below) less than a month ago. I noticed this stuff popping up and pruned some but within a week it has grown back.

I have not found this stuff anywhere else in the tank.

Almost looks like some kind of sponge.

Can you get the rock out with the zoos on it? You could cut off as much as possible and let the rock sit out in the air for 10 or 15 minutes. Won't hurt the zoos but the sponge won't like it.

My guess is some sort of macroalgae.

its a invasive calcareous sponge.

pick it out with tweezers. your zoas will be happier with it gone. it will come back unless you really go to lengths to get it all........just pick it out when it does. it doesnt grow all that fast
