what are these white things on my glass and pump

What are these white things sticking on my glass and pump. Some are really small and some are a little bigger. They seem to be stuck to the glass at one end. They dont move at all. They kind of remind me of grains of rice. Are they bad or good.

It's a type of sponge I can't think of the correct name right now one of the common names is Q-tip sponge. They are a harmless filter feeder
