tiny white crab....


today i bought a peice of live rock(the lady said it had just come in) and i found a tiny maybe a bout a 1/2 inch.it is white with red eyes and both claws are the same size.i threw it in my premixed saltwater bucket.does anyone know what it is?i can try to get pics later.

Definately need pics to be of much help.

Are the claws dark/black in color?

Are the legs hairy?

no hair..


the crab is all white.there is no hair on the arms.i do have anemone(porcilien) crabs which you can see the hair.i am thinking this guy is trouble.i gotta get a pic soon.

he is hairy.....


the body and legs are pinkish/white,the claws are black,the eyes are red and the body and legs are hairy. hope this helps.i do not have my camera yet.

IMHO, I would say "BAD" crab! Get him/her out now. Sump it if possible or take it to a LFS. Just get it out of your tank.

he is in a bag


did a water change today so he is in a bag right now.i will keep him in my premix bucket for now.

I think I found one somewhat similar to yours only mine was a little green and IT SWIMS! It was in my 5 gallon nano which surprised me b/c the nitrites were through the roof during the cycling process. I had a theory that it may have been responsible for the death of my hermits. But...I caught in my mermaid's hair algae.
