Snail...What kind. Do they make their own shell?

Can someone please tell me what kind of snail this is. I have no shells like this in my tank and was wondering how they have this big of shell. Also are they reef safe...

Snails make there own shells as to if it's reef safe I haven't a clue sorry

Cool, I think I just found my answer. I do believe it is a Limpet snail. As far as reef safe, its not that they kill stuff, they like to take themselfs out of the water and wait for "High Tide"... Um that never happens...
