Snail ID please


found this guy cruising the tank today. put him in the sump until i know what he is. he sucked up inside the shell but its pretty distinctive.

from what the shell looks like it might be some kind of hermit or a crab

Forgot the name of these but I remember reading they were NOT the good kind and were predatory. Anyone remember?

exactly what i thought by the looks of it. hopefully someone remembers for sure as it has a very nice looking shell.

looked up cowery and i only found a pictures of a shell that was darker and striped but the feelers i guess and the part of the body that actually came outside the shell for movement looked very similar
