Slug ID Please

I just switched from fresh to salt a few months ago. I have added about 20 lbs LR and got a few hitchhikers. I first noticed a few small white snails and thought cool, but when I came back from vacation (about 4 days) this thing showed up. You can see in one of the pictures it is attempting to eat one of my hermit crabs? do they do that whatever this thing is? New to salt and this site. Please help.

it's a chiton, a snail like creature with 8 segments to it's shell. well sort of shell. I thought they were all herbivores but then a gain i tossed the only one i've ever seen when i was new to the hobby.

I thought they were all herbivores

Nope, that is a myth, they also eat "animals", usaully encrusting animals and plants. Some are strick herbivores, others are omnivores and yet some are strickly carnivorous
