roundish flat bugs on my glass

I searched through some of the posts but still cannot figure out what these are. They are on the glass (only at night) about the diamater of a pencil eraser (smaller) but totally flat. They are very uniform and hang out together in groups (how cute). They also are crawling around on the LR. Sorry no pic.

sounds like you have the dreaded red flatworms. you will need to get them out of the tank. theres a product on the market call Flatworm Exit. if used properly it usually does the trick. heres a link on flatworms, and using Flatworm Exit.

You want to really get rid of them. Flatworm exit works great.......BUT how you go about it is directly relevant to how many you have in the first place. If i as much as see one in my system i nuke it with flatworm exit............but when there are very few you can do that with no ill effects or precaustions taken.

If you look.........at a few of the heaviest concentrations you see.......how many flatworms do you see???

You really want to siphon as many out and then when you dose with flatworm exit, you need to have carbon ready to run in a canister filter, as well as have anywhere from 20-100% waterchange ready....again...depending on the magnitude of your infestation. The flatworm exit is not toxic to anything but the flatworms in your tank......the toxins the worms release when they die can crash your tank if there were enough of them.......

thats why you want to physically remove as many as possible

I alos notice that my 6-line and my clown both are handy assets whenever ive used FE exit.......they both eat them as they start to float away........

I saw last night probably 20 or so on the glass. THat would be on the high side. I do not have a canister filter, I have a nano cube.

It sounds as though from your other thread that they very well might not be flatworms anyway......

Like said above, suck the 20 or so out when you do a water change.

Some kinds of fish will eat them, I think. I don't know if you have fish in your tank yet or not, and I don't know if any nano-sized fish will eat them. My CBA eats them, but that fish might be too active for a small nano. I think that 6-lined wrasse eat them as well, but again, a very active fish.

so back to those little bugs! They do not move like a worm. They move like a bug crawling, just like the pods. Does that mean anything? And they almost look like they would be crunchy.
