rolly polly look alike, what is it?


I just got back from the lfs with a frag.... there is a little something in the bag. almost looks like a mini rolly polly and actually does curl up a bit when disturbed... should i let it in my tank? its about 1/2 long and 1/4 in wide

It sounds like a Chiton which is a good algae eater and reef safe. I would put it in my tank without hesitation.

lol.. i used to call them potatoe bugs until one of my preschoolers told me all about her new pet. Its nane is Rolly and lives in a fish tank with dirt on the bottom. Yes, after several questions and her sad telling of how rolly just curled up and died one day, I now call potatoe bugs rolly pollys.
