red hairs in the sand

I have found some very small red looking hairs in the sand, when apiece of food comes near the tentacles catch it. I cant see what is underneath, it eventually pulls the food into the sand. I can't get a pic (camera kaput)! anyone familiar with this? Also, the hairs are in a circle the size of a quarter,and 1/8th inch and less. Thanks for the info on this interesting creature.

Do you see any kind of mouth or just the "hairs" ?
My first guess was a spaghetti worm but 1/8" is a bit short for them.

thanks for the info. I checked out the (live rock hitch hickers), that is exactly what it is, a spaghetti (hair) worm
