question about molting?

Ok i have or had not sure yet which, a sallylightfoot crab, pretty good size have had it for about 6 months, I have always seen his pieces of molts in the tank but today when i got up i found what looked to be it dead hanging on the side of a rock, but the shell was completely empty so i'm not sure if it was eaten out by the cleaners or i guess my question is do they leave a full molt, since i have never seen mine do it, always just pieces everywhere.and if they do how long will they usually stay in hiding after one since i have never seen mine MIA before even when i see the leg pieces and caps in different places in the tank.?? just curious. last night he was moving around fine and eating as always.

I've had a few crabs and shrimp over the years that I have spotted a full molt and thought it was the dead carcass.

how long will it stay in hiding after molt if thats what it did, i have never seen it stay gone a whole day its usually all over the tank all day long. I just need to get another after a sufficient wait time, i dont know much about there time to recoup from the molt. if thats what happened here is the pic i took from what i found this morn. I have since removed the empty carcas.

Yep - Full Molt

I had the same thing - thought I had lost the sally.

Turns out, I had a PERFECT, full molt of it.

Keep your eyes open. Mine took almost a week to show up again.
