overgrowth of tiny white featherdusters

these little guys looked cool a 1 1/2 years ago as a small colony on a piece of rock. now they are everywhere. little white calcium tubes. size is about 1-2mm thick average about 1 inch long curled, spiral, or straight.

is there anyway to rid of these things?

I have a reef tank with softies and acros. Can I limit the calcium additives?

any natural predators for these small tube worms?

please help. thanks

welcome to TRT!! I don't know if there are any predators that'll eat them... though I've heard that some butterflies will eat regular feather dusters. I wouldnt recommend dropping the calcium down, I doubt that would do anything. Hopefully someone else has a bit of experience with irradicating them.

I got a Copper Band Butterfly and he pretty much wiped mine out. There not harmfull,.. and I quite like them, but that's one possible preditor.

Limiting the nutreants in the tank should also help because these things are filter feeders.
