Need help...ich or fungus

I need some help first diagnosing what i have and then treating it. I have already moved my fish to a treatment tank. I have a hippo tang, bicolor blenny, percula clown, and a strawberry dottyback. The hippo was the last fish added about a week ago and is now covered with white spots. From the side you can see that there are bumps on the fishes' skin and a white spot on top of the bump. I believe it to be ich although there also seems to be a fungus over his one eye( the eye looks slightly fuzzy) so i am not sure. The percula clown seems to have some very faint white spots and the bicolor has no spots but seems to rub himself on rocks once in a while. They were all eating well before i moved themthis morning, the hippo included. The hippo looks the worst in the bunch. Some help please... i love these fish

can't tell for sure without a picture but it sounds like ich with a fungus as a secondary infection.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

If that is the case what is the best form of action? Would you recommend dealing with the ich issue first (hyposalinity) or treating the the fungus first? Or maybe there is a med that would do both? I don't really know the meds all that well

I am guessing it is not wise to treat both at the same time

I would do hypo and a round of "quick cure" first to get the Ich in check. After a week or two when the ich is cleared you can then determine if anything else needs to be treated.

I have a clownfish that had ich and some kinda fuzzy white stuff all over him. Here is what I did.

Started with hypo and "quick cure". After 3 weeks, the Ich was gone but he still had the fuzzy white spots/blotches on him. So I tried "quick cure" again, that did not work. Then I treated him witha 5 day Instant Ocean "Life Guard" treatment that also did not work. Next, on the advice of a LFS employee, I used a product called "CLOUT". Before dosing the CLOUT, I gave him a 15 min fresh water bath. Clout is a one day treatment. I do not know if was the clout or the FW bath but the next day, the fish was as clean as a whistle and has stayed that way. All of these treatments were done during the hyposalinity.

thanks i appreciate the help. I always thought that during the hyposalinity you couldn't dose because it would be too stressful for the fish but maybe its the nature of the products that you are using that allows you to do this. Quick cure is made by which company?

well the little hippo isn't doing well this morning at all. He's head down in the corner. Still breathing though but i don't think he will make it. The others are still in the battle. Salinity is at .018 right now , will drop it some more tonight.

quick cure is made by aquarium products.

Copper is a definite no-no during hypo. I decided to try what I did because the fish was on borrowed time. I really thought it was not gonna make it.
