mystery plant

when i got my live rock it had what looked like a little dead stick on it.
2 weeks later the stick has sprouted several green leaves, and a few more leafy plants have sprouted up around the rock also. this is the best pic of it i could get with my iphone

(the lump on the side is one of my hermits checking it out)

is this something i should nuke or is it as i hope,, just a neat green ocean tree

I'm not sure of what it is, but I don't know of too many "good" marine plants for a reef tank. Shaving brush and Halimeda come to mind. Hard to tell if what you have is either one. I hate to say it, but you may want to get rid of it or isolate it until you identify it. When in doubt, get it out.

Cant see the pics but Macro isn't usually a bad thing. There are a few types that can get a bit out of control but most are nice and help keep the water clean.

it's sargassum grass, very nice, Will grow and then just die out. I have had pretty good luck with it and most fish don't eat it, You can see it here
