Question

Maybe an ID, please....

I am unable to get a good pic of what I am describing, I will keep trying though and post it if i manage to do it.

I have several of them on my live rock.
They are maroon, burgandy, merlot.... in color
They kind of look like a crown, when viewed from straight on, and kind of from above, except solid in the center.
Currently they are about 1/8" or so around, and just a little more than that in height. Here is the best pic I can get.

Forams!

I agree - Forams! I've been doing a lot of reading about them - they really are fascinating! Neither plant nor animal... more like a REALLY complex and large amoeba.

There are also really cool "white" ones (I think they are built from calcium?).

But the important stuff: They are a sign of a good tank, and do not cause any problems.

I only have 10-15 of the red ones, i have too many to count of the white things like in your pic, well as long as they're not harmful.

Thanks again everyone
