Is he ok?

This is my son's picasso trigger and my son said that he is not swimming much today and when I checked it out it looks like there is something wrong with his eyes. Almost like he is blind or something. I was just curious if there looks to anyone like something is wrong or if I am just out of my mind and if there is what? and if it's parasitic or can be fixed with medication or if I should just have a florist on standby for the funeral. My son is very attached to this fish. Any ideas would be appreciated.

It looks like popeye which is a bacterial infection. You can try treating with a gram negative anti-biotic, but the fact that he is just sitting on the bottom leads me to believe there is more going on there and the eyes are just another visible symptom.

Hopefully someone else can chime in, but I've not researched popeye much since I have never had it...

Can you give us some more details about the situation? Are there other fish in the tank, how big is this fish, how long have you had it, any water parameter testing lately?

all parameters seem to be fine and this just started this morning. he isn't moving much and because of his own hatefulness he is the only fish in the tank. i have had him for a couple of years and he has done this once before but the next day he was fine. i am gonna check on him in the morning when i feed him and i am hoping for the best. his eyes have always looked a little strange to me but the lfs said that they have odd eyes so silly me, i believed them. also i know that these are normally fairly aggresive fish but this one will bite when i clean his tank. i literally have to monitor his actions before i clean it. if he is in a bad mood he will bite me hard! can fish have mental problems? or is this normal behavior for this type? if it turns out that this is popeye where do i get the meds to treat? thanks again

I have little fish that bite me, so I would consider that pretty normally, especially considering how aggressive triggers can be. You'll want to check with the LFS about hobby produced meds, but there may be outside the hobby meds that will work. Hopefully someone else will have some info, and don't hesitate to keep searching and even check with a vet.
