Invertebrate ID Help please

I am brand new to saltwater and reef tanks so I apologize up front for my terminoloy and if this is something really obvious. I just set up my tank and added everything and found this little guy. Is he good or bad for a reef tank and what is he? Thank-you very much.

Thank-you Kelli, I'm at a complete loss. It kind of looks like some kind of crab or lobster under there.

Yo no need to Apologize !

We all have been the new guy on the block

i am still a new guy !

As for that thingy its Cool looking !
i would say get it and take it to you LFS and see if they know get a deep Bowl with lid take your tank water and slip it in to that and then take it about if no one knows that it is then pop some holes in to the lid and find out when the local Reefing club meets and show up and ask them they might know

note the holes will let water in while keeping your buddy out of you system

at least that is what i would do !

Scaly Slipper Lobster would be my guess. Here is a good site for ID of marine animals.
