ID please


Ok so i was just randomly looking around my rock and noticed a new worm. Impossib le 4 me to get a good pic so i will describe. Its body looks like a bristle worm w/ the things on the side but its coloration is striped black and white like a zebra. any ideas???

I couldn't find much on these worms besides research documents. I'll keep looking.

Black & white stripes could belong to one of many different polychaete worms. If your worm is really a syllid then it's probably a harmless tank citizen. Nearly all of them are thought to feed by piercing cells of algae or sponges with a tooth and sucking out the contents. I have seen a couple of posts concerning larger syllids in a different subfamily which bite chunks out of zoas.
