hydroids

I have little orange hydroids in my tank. How do I get rid of them?

They are tough to get rid of except for just letting them be and getting your nutrient import/export in line and they should kind of go away on their own accord....
if you have any that you think are causing a specific problem, i would try to remove the affected coral and in a seperate container manually remove them using a powerhead or turkeybaster. Ive never had a problem with them but i have heard of other people doing that when they bug them.

how many do you have that you are aware of??

They are starting to be a problem. They are coming up every where. The guy at our local coral store said a copper banded butterfly will eat them, but I'm not sure I want one of those in my tank.

I wouldn't add a butterfly to get rid of them...that may just lead to other problems.

Slow down a bit on feeding...I suspect the hydroids will largely disappear once their food source is removed.
