Huh!? Haven't seen this before...

The other night I was looking at my tank a few hours after lights out. I noticed what I first thought to be aptasia. Upon closer inspection, it just doesn't look like any aptasia I've seen before. I'm thinking anemone but what kind? Good or bad? It only comes out when completely dark and during the day there is absolutely no sign of it. Just looked again tonight and saw another one on a different rock. I've tried to get a picture of it but it's not cooperating. There is a round disk that is approximately 3/8" with mouth in the center and 1/4" to 3/8" inch long projections...maybe 30 or 40 of them. The projections are as thin as a hair and end in a tiny sphere (1mm). The color is almost clear with the sphere's being a very light green and the body a slight tan tint. Any ideas you have would be great!!! I've done quite a bit of searching through pics online trying to find it but no luck yet...basically because I don't have a clue what I'm looking for I've attached a couple of photos and a paint depiction...laugh if you may but I can't figure out how else to explain what it looks like

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the quick reply!

The shape is the same but not quite and since looking at every pic of a hydroid I could find, doesn't seem to be it. I'll try to describe better...picture translucent zoanthids but, instead of the short fringe, they are surrounded by 30 or so tiny (as described) tentacles from a frogspawn waving in the current. Does this make any sense?

aptasia, mojano, hydroids.... ok, I just don't know Hard to tell anything from the pics. It is frustrating trying to get a pic of tiny objects in a tank.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

How about trying to find the animal in question with the red light, then photo with a flash. Needs to be a good macro shot and in focus where the creature fills most of the screen.

My initial thought is some form of hydroid (remember, ~3900 different species) or some azoxanthellate anemone, but I think hydroid more likely if it does not get any larger with time.

Has it harmed anything in the tank near this location?
