Hitchhiker coral?

When I first saw this, it was open and I thought I had a pest anemone on my hands. Later, a hard skeleton became larger and clearer, which makes me think I have a coral of some type, which is much better than a pest anemone. Here are pics open and closed.

Any Ideas?

It looks like a Pseudocorynactis (anemone) in the shell of a dead coral. Interesting! I'm wondering what others think.

I was thinking maybe this as well, but the hard skeleton seems new. Perhaps I just missed it the first time. I will keep an eye on it as it get larger.

I have the exact same thing in my tank. It came with the LR. I do not know what it is.

Yes, possibly, but cup corals are cold water corals. Are any tropical?
