after looking in one of the books i have(J. Sprungs: Invertabrates A Quick Reference Guide), i beleive BoomerMn is correct. i have found a pic in the book that looks alot like what is in question. its labeled as a Cassiopea xamachana common name of Upside-down Jellyfish. it says its not reef safe, and is toxic to people, and requires strong illumination. i did a quick google search and couldnt really find a pic matching the one in the book however.

I hate to bother you with another question, but is it a good thing to have a slug like snail in the tank? i just found it the other day on the back glass...it is tan and i think it has a small shell, but i cant tell. I havent gotten a good picture of it yet, but if i need too, i will. thanks for any help!

thanks! but now i have another question ( i know i have a lot..). There are these, things...in my tank. One of them looks like an anenomoe that is stuck tenticles first on the side of my tank and the other ones....i dont even know how to describe, but ill give it a shot. It has an oval with a kinda snake forked tongue looking thing...so it looks kinda like this: o< except with an oval.. It is transparent and when it moves, it moves the oval up and makes it wider. then, the oval shrinks, and then repeats....When i can get a picture ill post it up here.
thanks soo much!

okay im hoping these pictures may help out a bit. But they arent very good. Expecially the last three. Those are of the transparent things. I hope this helps everyone out! thanks for your time!
lauren
ps you will most likely have to zoom on the first one but the last three just make the picture look worse.. sorry! I will try to get a better picture of them soon!

based on your description of the fireworms tufts in a straight line, I'm going to guess I had 4 of them. Thought they were bristleworms, but it fit twitterbait's description. Definately tufts of spikes in a straight line down each side of the worms body. Either way, I was warned to be careful, they have an aweful sting. Mine died(I think) in the heat wave of August, as did nearly everything else in my tank.
