First freak out and why I love TRT

So its been a good month since I started my tank and all is going well. I look at my tank tonight and I'm staring at the rock after the lights go out. I get suprised and it looks like there's a fossil in my rock!!! Being curious, I poke said "fossil" and it curls up!!!!!!!! Needless to say, being a newbie, I freak out and immediately log onto TRT and navigate to Pests and Hitchhikers. Luckily, in another post by Paintbug, I found this link:

http://www.xtalworld.com/Aquarium/hitchfaq.htm

After scrolling down, I find that it is a chiton. This immediately put me at ease but I'd like to get other people's opinion on them. He's quite big for such a little tank. I would say about 3/4 of an inch long and half in width. Thanks TRT!!!!

most the time chitons are just algae eaters, this includes coralline algae. but its good to get the coralline removed from time to time, as it allows the pours to open back up on the LR. this allows the LR to be more efficent bio-filtration. the coralline will grow back.
