Can anyone help with an identification

Hi everyone,
I am in the process of setting up my new 94l mrine ank and have just added live rock.

I noticed this creature I think it is alive as the number of 'bristles' vary it seems to be shell like, muscle shaped but hasnt opened or closed.. can anyone tell me what it is?

Thanks

It looks like a mussel to me. I would love to find one of those.

Welcome to TRT!!!

I agree that it looks like a mussel or small cleaner clam and hope it will survive through the cycling phase for you.

Silly question?

How will I know if it dies?

I know when mussels etc die they tend to open and stay open.. would this be the case with this...
Do I need to do anything special?

Thankyou for the warm welcome
