I'm not sure if those are bristleworms or not. They seem kind of short and stubby for a bristleworm.

thats what i thought but the others are 4 to 6 inches in length and look exactly the same, do they break into pieces and keep growing?? and here is my camera shy star.. what he would let me see of him anyhow, will try to get a better pic soon. and here is a pic also of one of the little buggers poking out a hole the worm that is, will still try to get one of the big worm thats in there, and if it is bristle worms are they bad to have in the tank?

You've got just a piece. It's upside down & the appendages don't look right because there's no enough water so I can't tell if it's an amphinomid or an eunicid fragment. Some of the worms can reproduce by regrowing from fragments if the piece is big enough.

That's a bristle worm in the post above this one. Most bristles are harmless scavengers and I have always just left them in the tank.

I thought they were better than Ok.. I thought they were good for your tank. Either flyguy or whiskey have like a 3 ft. long bristleworm in their sump. Ive actually seen a few sites that sell bristle worms for about $1 a piece. Leave i tin there, it wont harm anything.

bristleworm control
I had lots of bristleworms in my tank. I was ordering from an online vendor, www.tropicaloceanreef.com, and was advised to order some wrasse to help control them. It did the trick.
The last time I got them, a local shop told me they had to go.
They had me remove all animals, and flood the tank w/ fresh water. (what a hassle) They came back within a month. Now I just try to control their population w/ some wrasse.

Welcome aboard, Fishypoo!! w00000000000000000000000t!!!
And I think you got some bad advice from your local shop...I don't believe they deserve the bad rep they sometimes get.

worms
The Online Fish Dudes Also Told Me.................................
Even Though Brissle Worms Do Turn Over Your Sand Bed, When A Fish Comes In Contact With A Worm By Rubbing Up Next To It, Or The Brissle Worm Touches A Sleeping Fish, The Brissles Can Break Off And Can Damage The Fish. Even Worse, It Can Cause An Infection, And The Fish Will Die!
I Guess Local Shops Have Good Points, And Bad Points.
Sometimes It May Be "who In The Shop" You Talk To.
I Guess You Have To Be Careful Where You Get Your Advice, No Matter Where It Comes From!!

well i have an estimate of 75 to 100 of these little buggers, but from what i have read and the info i got from here they are not bad at all to have ya just dont want them to get tooo populated which is understandable with just about any of one species in your tank... so i did invest in one 6 line, he is only bout 2 inches in length but i think he will do fine in getting rid of alot of the small worms and will only leave me with the larger ones to tend with which works out good, the larger ones will turn the bed for me as where the little ones just go in and out the rocks.... ty for all the info.....
