These little bar-striped mini brittle stars never get much larger than a quarter from tip to tip of their rays, and actually are pretty kewl if they multiply enough to form colonies. (They're fissaperous, they divide to reproduce). When the lights go out, they will all put out their arms from the rock and act like filter feeders, catching detritus or whatever other organic material they can and sorting through what they decide to keep. If you put some mysiids in the blender and feed the tank at lights out, they will come out of the woodwork, a good way to see you many you actually have. You might be surprised! Check IPSF's site for some info (and to see how much they go for) on these little beauties!

I found a star on a new piece of rock that looks exactly like this in color and shape but has 6 legs, anyone know if it's the same thing? I assume it's a good thing to have.
