another unknown hitch hiker
Anyone have an idea what this may be? sorry about the Q of the pic....maybe it will help. It looks like a pistachio nut, it only moves at night, and from what I saw it has a smooth body with no antenna (if so they are very ,very small).

Looks like it could be a Stomatella varia
a Stomatella, harmles, they should come and go depending on food availability. I once had a lot of em', but since have subsided.

It's kind of wierd, It has no antenna, and a smooth body. I don't know if this info matters, but I got some cats eye zoo's from tonga... two days later I noticed this little guy.

i hade of them.......scallop.....but it died.....not sure why....it was doing so good....and lived for a long time.....but one day there was just an empty shell....

I found a couple empty shells like these in some LR.

most are harmless filter feeders....but i dont know ALOT about them....

yeah... i don't know if they are clams, mussels or scallops or some other bivalve, but i have never known one to harm anything... i've found them in live rock many times. they don't seem to cause any issues if they die either- they don't seem to be big enough. i could watch mine open and feed and then close if disturbed. they are neat to have and nothing to worry about.
