I found out what happened to that tiny anemone that came in on my zoos finally. It had dove under a rock and taken up residence IN one of my sponges. The sponge doesn't look any worse for the wear. I apologise for the picture, you can't see anything but a blob. Definately an anemone, and the bit of blue to the side of it is one of my blue leg hermits. About half grown. Also, the little nem has white bands on a tan background.

I'd say more tan. But that's just me. Still a tiny thing either way.

I dunno. This little guy is 100% certain an anemone though. It wanders, has tentacles, hides in rocks, etc. Just didn't want to nuke it if it was something that could be grown into a large, worth some cash anemone.

Could be an aiptasia or perhaps a majano anemone...really hard to say from the pic.

Have you done a search for pics here? Anything resemble what you have?

Kinda resembles it. And it is retracting when I bump its rock, whick I've been told is a sure sign it is an aip. Then again my sponge doesn't care that it has another creature living in it. Weird.

Hmm. I found a pest rock anemone in my tank last night. It came along on my brain, and is not the same variety that the first is. I think I may just go ahead and see if I can find a way to kill them. Any suggestions as to how to do that without harming my sponge and my brain?
