Sump screen

I'd give a picture, but it just keeps coming out fuzzy-something wrong with the focus, so I have to try to explain....the "nozzle" that picks up water from the sump to go to the pump to return to the tank, is sitting at a 45 degree angle, instead of downward. There is not enough room to turn it downward unless the screen is taken off. It could go to a 90 degree angle (sideways) or upright (facing the top of the sump). Does it matter as long as its picking up water? Just wondering.

It doesnt matter which way it is as long as it never gets air sucked into it. If your water level in your sump stays high enough then you dont really need a 90 degree piece on it.
