Sump design. Let me know what you think!!!

I plan to build my own sump out of a small glass tank. Don't know the dimensions yet but this is the design I have in mind. I guess I should mention that I have a 60 gallon tank (48" x 16" x 18") which I plan to drill and add an internal overflow box.

1) air will get in to skimmer pump from intake (make intake like r pump's) 2) imo add a fuge to it.

looks great to me. i would not really worry about having that first baffle, but having it will not hurt anything either.

you might want to make the return side a bit bigger so that you have a little more leeway when the power fails and the tank drains into the sump. once again not a must, but something to think about.

not a fan of refugiums, so i would not put one in there. it would be way to small to do any good, plus it will be just something else to clean.
