should I use a sump?

I have a 30 high 24x12x24 that im starting to stock as a full reef tank with maybe 5 fish or so. should I add a sump/wet-dry filter or continue using the 2 hang-on's that i've used for the last 8mths with no problems??
Please help, Im not sure what to do. and does anyone know if I can fit a 10gal in the stand w/out taking the 30 down?
Thanks
Lewis~

The problem is finding a HOB overflow that won't have issues with the small amount of flow you would want with that tank and sump. Personally if things are going well, I wouldn't change anything)

That is exactly what it means... Those small overflows still need 3-600gph to work and that is too much for a 30 gallon tank. Plus they would take quite a bit of real estate.

I would use a MAG 8 and trim it down to about 300gph returning into the tank with 2 (split) return. possibly on a scwd. is this a good idea?

or still too much flow???

Way too much flow... Mag 7.5 or 9? Either way it is a big pump, a lot of heat for it's size ... Like I said, you could make it work, but the hassle probably isn't worth it IMO if things are going smoothly now. My rule of thumb is over 40... Meaning I'll put a sump on anything over 40, unless it is a specialized app.

You could get a great HOB skimmer for that tank, a couple broad-flow powerheads and have a nice, rocking tank

ya that sounds good. right now i have 2 hang-ons (millennium 2000's) and a maxi-jet 1200 for x-tra flow at the lower part of the tank. I have a seaclone 150 in my closet from when i first started the hobby, should i give it a try? I know there pretty low-quality skimmers but its on-hand for me with no extra cost!!! always a +

I would look into a octopus HOB, a remora or a bermuda... That seaclone just isn't going to do anything...
