so where does the refugium go in the sump? Before, after, or in the skimmer section?

now that is the question of the ages. either way it defeats the purpose of having one. this is why there is not a good concensus on this point.

if you put it before the skimmer than the skimmer will skimm out the beneficial food that the refugium is suppose to be supplying. this happens to be where i suggest people putting refugiums if they must have one.

if you put it after the skimmer than the skimmer is removing all of the nutrients that the refugium needs to feed itself.
