dripping kalk is about the same thing. kalk is great, but if you do smallish water changes than you should watch the Mg level. most of the time it is not a problem, but something to be aware of when using kalk.

I dont test for mag and never have,I have no clue what mine is

well I test mine...just to make sure its in line....also we have a 5 gallon drip jug...how often should I mix the kalk up for it....I use about 5 gallons a day outta the jug....do I mix up a new batch of Kalk everytime I fill the jug???OR SHOULD I TOP OFF OUT OF SOMETHING ELSE AND DRIP kALK SLOWER?

keep an eye on your Ca and alk levels. i have stopped kalk drip for now because i have found my corals are not uptaking it fast enough and the kalk top off was causing my alk to raise. whe the corals and the clams start using it more i will start it back up. so, if you are having a high alk problem than i would stop or slow down the kalk drip. if not than let it go.

there is a lot of trial and error with SW tanks. as long as you know what to test for and do it reliably, you can adapt your system to its needs.

Thanks Geoff My alk was 10.8 this morning...so I have heard if it stays under 13 you are safe! and higher than 9.0
