Purple UP

Has anyone heard or used this stuff? it is used to increase coralline algae .... it is not a fertilizer .. its made by Carib Sea... I just bought it yesterday i recently started a 55 gal and have had live sand in the tank for about 2 weeks and i am slowly getting live rock... the chick at the fish store told me she put a cap a day in her 90 and it did make a huge difference, i was wondering the long term effects.. i don't like to put chemicals in my tank but i don't have any inhabitants in the tank yet so i figured it wouldn't hurt anything now but i also don't want it to effect me down the road when i do get fish and corals

As long as you do your WC and keep your water Parameters up,you don't need it.If you use it make shure you do your tests and your not over doseing your tank.

It's a calcium supplement that's sometimes used. Most people have had good success with it, but also consider it to be rather expensive for what it did. There are less expensive ways to add calcium and alkalinity to the tank. Do search for 2 part additives and also kalkwasser (pickling lime). If you are a bit handy, you can use common grocery items to make these things.

purple up cost about 20 dollars a bottle hear
If you buy 20 dollars worth of 2 part solution You will have enouph for a long time.

In my opinion COROLINE ALGEA IS OVER RATED

you always want it till you have it .then you spend the rest of your life scraping it off.
I bought a bottle and didnt like how it clouded up my water and freaked out my fish
I guess if i ever run out of 2 part ill use it.
