Hey guys, looking for an affordable wave maker. What do you think of this set up?
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...04+113040+2032
If you feel this would be a good set up, what pumps should I go with. How about this one? It controls 4 pumps, while the other only controls 3.
http://www.currentsea.com/wavemaker.htm
Im leaning towards to Currentsea wavemaker. Since Im running a 120 gal tank and the wavemaker uses 4 pumps. What GPH pumps do you recommend? I dont want to go overboard with water movement since I will still have 2 return lines going in using a mag 18.
160 gph
230 gph
295 gph
Thanks....

As a gift, my brother in-law asked "What could you use for your Reef Tank? I'll get something for you for it." I thought..."wave maker" I found one and he ordered it for me. It's a "Current Sea" wave maker with 4 Maxi-Jet 1200 for $117.00. I was unable to find much information on the unit, but thought I would take a chance and try it out. The unit has 4 recpt. for 4 pumps. It has a Timer mode, a Chase mode and Sound mode, with a adjustable speed dail. It looks to be a well made unit, but only time will tell.

Sweet!!! Looks like a well built unit to me also. I have never used a wake maker.

I cant wait to see the final setup on the tank.

Besides the plumbing, I have to figure out how to wire the MH and VHO's. Build my power center.(I dont care for power strips.) Oh yea, I still need a stand and canopy. Should be here this week, if not, for sure next week. I think thats about it for now.....I hope...

Question on refractometer's. I have one of those cheap $10.00 swing arm SG testers. How good are they? Should I invest in a refractometer? If so, what's a good one, yet wont empty the wallet? Is this one sold at Dr's Foster and Smith any good?
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...pc=1&N=0&Nty=1

Thanks...........

That one will be fine and yes I would invest in it! They are far more accurate than a swingarm.
