MJ 400 Mod?

SOmeone gave me a MJ 400. A mod to make it for flow is 14 bucks. I am already ordering some other stuff so shipping is no big deal. Is it even going to be worth it or two underpowered to matter? It is a 30 long that is mostly LPS and softies. It will have a K2 and K3 and the return will be a eheim 1250, so will extra flow even be needed? I mean I could always throw it in my 10 gallon.

I would say for the price, it would make a great back up... I actually use my modded MJs and moved the koralias into my SW mixing container.

Yup... I have to replace my korailias about every 9-14 months. After the warranties expired I refused to get another K4. I may look into one of the 5-8s one of these days since they are a different beast. It got old! Plus I have the large prop on mine and i think it's getting a tad of 2k gph...

THat is a bit concerning since my K2 is about 12-14 mos old

They were some of the first batch, but you would think that somewhere in the midst of the warranty replacements I would have got a newer one if they solved the problem... Just one day... poof... no worky

Well as often as I accidentally unplug the thing it may have only ran 10 of those months . I have pumps that have over 5 years of use and are still plugging away so I expect things to last forever!

for as cheap as they are I almost want to order a bigger MJ and 2 kits instead of the K3.... but I like koralia so far.
