Hydor FLO Rotating Deflector

Has anyone had any experience with these "wave makers"? They are kinda expensive if they don't work good.

They work fine, I have 2 of them but I'm not using them anymore because they decrease the flow of the powerhead by almost 70%.

Want to buy them?

If you use the search function on the forum you can find a ton of reviews on them, mostly bad ones.

I had used them but the reduced flow is a bad thing for me, so I took them off.

i have found that with a sand substrate they would seize in about three months . i my b.b tank i have had the same one going for 8 months and i have never cleaned it ! they do what they do well enough , but i would only use them for supplemental flow not main flow . also i never cared for the big backing plate that is only useful if you use the sponge on it , so i just grind it off ! looks much cleaner this way . but for 20 bucks ! hey !
