good vendors vs. bad vendors

I love when someone reports their experience with a vendor for others to review, both good and bad. Here's mine:

I purchased a 36" 2x250MH & PC combo with 6 led moonlights online from Aqua Universe. The fixture was well made, and functions great.

The downside is the litlle bit of assembly was not real clear. The documentation provided was limited at best. There was 2 glass sheilds that need to be installed, but short of dismantling the whole thing, I can't figure out how to put them in. The documentation just said to install them. Still not a big deal.

The big deal is... I've been e-mailing Aqua-Universe since August 19th and have not heard back. IMO, customer support is more important than price, selection, and delivery time.

My order from That-fish-place which was placed online on Labor Day, a Digital TDS Meter & other stuff, has already been delivered. Can't beat that.

Good Luck.

Funny, I just got an e-mail in response. No details on how to install, but an answer nonetheless.

Quality/service/price is generally the order in which businesses of any kind should be run IMO. Just because price is last on that list doesnt mean its not important however. : )

I have had very good experiences with the following:

Drs. Foster and Smith
That fish place
Marine depot
Vivid Aquariums.

No particular order, just how I remembered them. The way I see it, I may not need to find out about anyother company, they will cover all my needs.

I'll add Marine Depot to my list, even though both of my orders didn't make it, they tried to make retribution. That Fish Place was excellent also. As a follow up, Aqua Universe finally responded. It appears s pieces of plexi were missing and I'm told they have been sent. I'll give them an A for the product and a C for support. In other words, I'd use them again... maybe.
