bubbleking Skimmer or korallin calcium reactor?

hi everyone, iam having trouble choosing what is best at this point.i really want a calcium reactor but also need to upgrade my old cheap skimmer.my calcium (400) seems ok as well as my dkh(9.0) by dosing additives.but my ph is always at a 7.8 which leans me towards getting the bubble king being that supposely every good skimmer increases ph.i have tried aggitating the surface by putting powerheads with no change just more power running my chiller.and well the calcium reactor seems like it would be a good help supporting my aquarium needs.so i would like to have any opinions to help me decide on what to get.the second item would have to wait a month.since money is also going on the holidays.thanks to all.

You pH is fine. Trying to change pH through means of a skimmer is like buying new tires for better fuel economy. Although it affects it to some degree, your not hitting the source.

First off, a lot of BK fanatics are going to frown upon this, but BK skimmers are not all they are claimed to be. The build quality is nice, but they are over priced and oftentimes the pumps are underrated for the neck and body size. You can find similar performance at a fraction of the price in several other brands. MSX comes to mind.

Second, from your list, there is no reason to add a calcium reactor. You should be able to manage with 2 part as needed and with the low pH, you may be better suited to give kalk a whirl long before calcium reactors since they reduce pH to some degree and kalk increases pH.

Besides that many people worry too much about pH. There is a balance between pH, ca, alk and to some degree mag. Before I could venture to give any further advice I would need to know the parameters of each of those

Everything I was going to say.

Focus on a good quality PROVEN skimmer.
without a tank full of SPS a reactor should be low on your list.
