Api Salt Water Master Test Kit Views?

Any Body Used Api Kit For Regular Testing? If So How Do You Rate It? Thanks Stu

I have the reefmaster kit. It is solid for a low end kit. Tests are a little hard to read and are not accurate at very low range. They are however much more affordable than Salifert or Elos. If you are setting up a low nutrient SPS tank and investing a ton into equipment and livestock then pay for the better test kits. If you are running somewhat hardy species like me API works fine.

well, its up to you. But really IMHO the only people that really need the sensitivity and specificity of the pricey kits are sensitive SPS keepers or nem keepers. I keep monti and acro in my tank and have only API for NO3 PO4 dKH and Ca. I rarely test though, only if my tank tells me something is wrong. I will say API has a shorter shelf life than the pricey brands. I think that all 4 API tests cost as much as 1 salifert

I agree with jengish. I also use API without any problems not the best test kit on the market but it does the job and you will be able to see that you have a problem otherwise i also rarely test the tank excpet for initial setup.
