A few questions

I am in the works of putting a tank together.I am not new to reef tanks but it been almost 10 years since I did one.I trade some stuff to get a 150 gallon tank and stand. My question's are as follows.
1. I want to do a dsb system. What kinds of substright do I need? And how much should i need
2. How much and what kind of lighting should I use. Not sure what kind of corals I am going to get for the tank so I want to be covered.

Sand is just persoal preference. I personally have a 3" SSB of Carib Sea special grade reef floor. In a SPS system I have alot of flow and went with a coarser size to keep it on the bottom. As far as lighting If you go with T5 or Halide you can keep anything but if your 150 if more than 23" I would go halide...
