Surface film

So I have this film on the surface of the tank. I did a search "surface film" "oil on surface" "film on surface", but did not get any good results.

How can I get rid of this film on the water surface without buying this:

Add a powerhead directed at the surface to really aggitate it and get it into the overflow or skimmer or both. The skimmer will remove it then.

The other thing is to take papertowels and lightly set them over the surface, but I never like putting anything in my tank, so I've just always made sure I have good surface aggitation

Ok, I'll try the paper towel thing.

Since I do not have a reef ready tank I do not have an overflow.

Thanks

Maybe if you tell us your system we could help more.Do you have any external filter like a canister filter or a sump of some kind?

That requires work and thought process and today I'm not on top of either Just aggitate the surface. Maybe look at a surface skimmer for the remora and then build or buy one. It would certainly help. But just aggitating the surface should take care of most of it.
