Snowflake Eel

We got our first snowflake eel 2 months ago. I saw something the other day that I thought was a skinny little worm crawl out from under a rock, but upon further examination if looks like a baby snowflake eel. Little white head, snowflake pattern body, inch to an inch and a half long, about the size of a wooden pencil lead. Do they have be be around an other eel to have a baby or is it something they can do on there own? How many babies do they have, eggs or live birth? Is there anything we can do to help out mother and baby?

If it truly turns out to be a baby that would be too cool. Best of luck and keep us informed! Any chance of getting a picture of the little guy?
