Setting up FO tank

Well as most of you know I'm a reefer and just ran across a good deal on a 90 gallon wavefront tank. It will house a red volitan lion with a couple of butterflies and a dwarf angel or two that can't be kept safely on a reef. My question is : what can I do other than live rock???? I have a couple of pieces in there but I don't want to spend that kind of money if I don't have to. I'm not opposed to doing water changes and etc..... and really don't care what it looks like as long as there's hiding places for the fish and so forth. I want the focus to be on the animals in the tank rather than on the substrate and decor. Could you guys please pitch me some ideas. I know ur oppinionated. it's time to show it.

You can use a wet/dry filter for a filter since you won't have LR as a filter.

I've got that down. I have an aquaclear 110 filter, css 125 skimmer and a cpr HOB fuge on the back of it. Because of the stand design and lack of room (4 50plus gallon tanks in townhome) there's no room for a sump. What can a guy use for a decent habitat for the fish. I want the fish to feel comfy in the tank.

use those red clay pots that are normally for plants. they will provide a place to hide and make them feel better

i would go BB. the amount of waste that a lionfish can produce is amazing. this also makes it easier to siphon out the tank during water changes. the less your hand is in the tank with the lion the less likely you will get stung.

The CC is a bad idea. I used to house a couple lions with a CC substrate. CC sucks even without fish that make a mess, tenfold with fish that do.

If you want any cool base rock ive got a couple of 5 gallon buckets full...a couple of really nice large pieces with great shapes. Yours if you want it. You could take some acrylic rod and make a couple pillars...maybe an arch or two.
