Question about brown algae.

Hello everyone I had a slight nitrate spike about a week ago due to my mom overfeeding it reached 40 on the chart.I have corrected the problem but now i am starting to see brown algae growing on my crushed coral and on certain parts of the glass, i only use RO/Di water so could this still be diatoms or is this a normal part of the process tank has been cycled for about 2 months now.

Yep this is normal for a new system. It can get downright ugly during this phase of maturing. Based upon my experience it will come ago in a matter of a couple of weeks. All I did was clean the glass, lightly turn the top 1/2" of the substrate (only for looks really) and maintained good water quality. It will go away.

That's what happened to me after I found out my nitrate was too high but the algae's still there the algae is growing on my rocks and stuff but it should go away. I have to clean the tank glass often and change the water regularly to keep it clean!!! Yeah I overfed the fish and that happened I think you should take out anything the fishes don't eat after 5 minutes.
The algae is REALLY ugly.
