Puffer/trigger will they eat ALL CORALS? Id like something?

Hi,

Would a stars and stripes puffer and a niger trigger eat/nip at ALL CORALS? Or can i try?

Isnt there anything that wont taste good? lol, or just wont look appetizing
My LFS suggested that the trigger maybe ok with large leathers if they r in there b4 he is? will that apply for the puffer too.

Is it worth a try or am i wasting my money (did know if they r just trying to get me to spend my dosh!)

Im not sure about the puffer, but I have heard of niger triggers having no problems in a reef. But they are hit or miss, some fish are just not law abiding citizens.

If you’re wanting coral, I would stay away from Triggers and Puffers. Both species are not well suited to the reef aquarium, as they will likely eat most types of invertebrates and nip at your corals. Also, I my experience with triggers I’ve noticed they tend to become more aggressive with age.

I was going to try it with my Blue Jaw Trigger and Porcupine Puffer and my Toby Puffer. They are pretty relaxed and they dont mess with anything. It just depends on how much your fish are fed and if they are bored. Ive noticed my puffer gets bored sometimes, so i just rearrange the rock so she has stuff to explore. as long as you keep your fish entertained and fat i dont think they will mess with anything.
