Peppermint Shrimp Help

Well i purchased a peppermint shrimp last night and i acclimated it for 2-3 hours. The next morning i found that he had molted but he was dead.
my params are;
Amm; 0
Nit; 0
Nitrate; 5
pH; 8.2-8.4
temp; 78
SG; 1.024
he was pretty much taking over my clowns homes and i think that they may have something to do with his death.
any ideas would be great and any way to stop this cuz i really like peppermint shrimp they are so cool

What all do you have in the tank other then the clowns and the peppermint shrimp?

Did you get it from a LFS or the web?

I have bought lots of things from my LFS's and the only things that I drip acclimated are the snails every thing else I do a 15 to 20 min temp acclimation and so far nothing has died on my.

I have had 3 peppermint shrimp in my system 2 of them lasted until I put a pistol shrimp in the tank and I'm sure he killed them. I tried one more time but the pistol get that one too so I gave up on having peppermint shrimp in my tank.

Good luck!

are you sure the dead? you had two "bodies".

i have found that most crustaceans will molt almost immediately if something in the water is not to their liking. a defense mechanism of some kind. not sure what it could be. do you dose additives. you may be over dosing the tank if you do. certain elements can irritate crustaceans in large quantities. iodine comes to mind.
