Lawn Mower Blenny

I haven't seen my lawn mower blenny in 3 or 4 days and I'm afraid something happened it him. F/O tank with live rock. We've had him probably 3 or 4 months. He would hid in the cave in back of the tank or under the live rock where my yellow belly damsel would dig holes, but generally one of us saw him everyday doing his 'blenny' thing. My husband was going to get me a new one, but was told that if he was still alive, the new one would end up killing him. I miss him and have gotten very attached to him and I'm just afraid something happened to him.

I looked in Foster and Smith and I don't have any fish in the tank that he is not compatiable with.

Did you look all around the tank on the floor?

It's not unheard of for them to dissapear for a while, hopefully he's still around just hiding Is there anything you feed the tank he perticularly likes? If so you might try feeding that and try to draw him out.

I'll have my husband check all over the floor of the tank. Maybe he can move some stuff around. He's better at that type of thing. I'll put in some extra algae tablets, otherwise I've just seen him eat algae of the rocks. It's hard to look around the tank too much with all the stuff in there. I read in Fosters that they clean off filters and such. Could he have got caught in one of these? I'm also worried that maybe he could have run out of stuff to eat. We got him when we had green algae ALL OVER and we also got a LOT of Turbo Snails and regular snails. Our algae looked like it became non-existent. Maybe too many things eating it. And the live rock in there is pretty new and has gotten quite a few gray spots from the transport. Maybe he didn't have enough stuff to eat or the right stuff? What else do Blennies like to eat and I'll get that and put it in there?

hi fattrainman'

my blenny hides for days then pops out just when i think it's gone!

dont use algae tabs try nori or dry brown marine algae strips on a feeder clip or tied to weighted object.

Be careful..My blenny went missing and unfortunatley I found him under a rock. He must have got stuck under the rock and died. I was very sad
