Invert Compatibility

I was wondering if a chcolate chip starfish will bother a peppermint shrimp or a brittle sea star? I've kept a brittle sea stars with shrimp with no problem but I've never have kept a chcolate chip starfish.

If for some reason the shrimp can't get out of the way, it might be eaten, but a healthy peppermint shrimp has nothing to worry about. I kept several with my chocolate chip.

I don't know about brittle stars, mine lived with a sand sifting star and left it alone.

I'm more concerned with the chocolate chip bothering the brittle star.

I can't imagine it could really get to it very well since they are usually hanging out in the crags. But, the chocolate chip starfish is predatory so always use caution. As an experiment I tried some soft corals with mine, he ate them, and some nassarius snails, he ate them. So...caution.

I might just stick with getting a brittle sea star then. They are a lot easier to feed anyway. Thanks for all of your help

Here's an article I wrote on the chocolate chip http://www.azfishkeeping.com/content.php?c_id=77.

If you plan on keeping any corals, the brittle star is a far better choice, but if not, I would pick the chocolate chip.

Yeah a lot easier to feed. You don't have to do anything! Mine is overfed though because i like to give him krill shrimp when i have company over. Pretty neat to watch and anytime i stick my bare hand in the tank, he comes rollin out to grab me!
