Feather Dusters

I want to add a feather duster to my 24-gal aquapod. Does it need to be "planted" on my sandy bottom? Or, can I putty/glue it to a rock? Do they have light requirements? Can I put them up high? Can they be stung by corals?

I wouldnt glue it to a rock, but wedging it in is fine. They can get irritated by corals, but not in the typical sense seeing as they are a worm.
