if you are really interested in keeping one of these you need to be sure of the supply chain to you. if the LFS keeps their tanks at anything but 1.026 than you need to ask if you can have the star still in the bag when it comes in before they acclimate it. check this water before doing anything. if this water is not 1.026 than do not ask for another one from this LFS if it does not survive. the distributor is skimping on salt also.

i would also recommend keeping your tank at 1.026 also if you want to keep one of these stars. keeps things as simple as possible.

yeah 1.026 is the best salinity to keep things. when i first started i always ran my tank at 1.019-20 because the guy at the LFS told me that will keep you fish ich free because the low salinity. but my fish had ich anyways. then i uped it to 1.026 and they all got better. since then always 1.026 all the way
